Candid Microphone

Many of you may remember Allen Funt on CANDID CAMERA, the program that caught people in the act of being themselves. The jest for the popular TV show began on radio with CANDID MICROPHONE. Hidden microphones were hidden at unusual situations, and the main focus was to get everyday people’s reactions to those situations.Candid Microphone was first heard on Saturday, June 28, 1947, at 7:30pm on ABC radio. Funt's concept came to television on August 10, 1948. Here is two episodes of the radio show from 1947.

  1. Great site, thank you so much. But… please, avoid hollers like "it's" instead of "its" that i see often on your site, and the horrible horrible one above: "when YOUR (yuck!) speaking" instead of "when YOU'RE speaking". Your site is so professional and well-done, it does not deserve these ugly errors. Thank you :-) !

  2. I agree with the previous comment. The problem appears to be the miserable condition of U.S. schools (#28 in the world at this writing). For example, the description above says "Here is two episodes..." Should read "Here ARE two episodes..." Not your fault. The fault is American schools.
